SOWNY » The producers of a CFNY Spirit of Radio doc are looking for your help » May 2, 2021 9:43 pm

I would have to go through our library to see if there are any gems (airchecks, etc.)

I was able to find a Sampler CD from producer Alex Greggs from 1996 recently that I shared with him.

I have original albums of The Fitness Files with Ann Rohmer that were fun to listen to.
(which I believe Dale produced back in the day for Telemedia)

Guitar lessons from Hank Snow on vinyl too...

It's amazing what you can find when you buy collections of CDs and albums out there in bulk.

ps... always looking for CanCon tunes and comedy if you've got it

SOWNY » Which Stations Have The Longest Running Continuous Formats? » May 2, 2021 9:30 pm

CJCS AM Stratford was oldies and more when I was on air in late 80s and is still a classic hits station as CJCS-FM (107.1 Juice FM) CJCS started back in 1935 and was a great starting place for legendary icons Lloyd Robertson, Bob Bratina and Tony Parsons.  It was a great station to work at.

On a funny note... I once approached a client who I knew well to ask him if he wanted to sponsor the "Sudden Death Overtime"... He was a funeral director... He laughed (I knew he would) but we both agreed we could never pull it off

Hey!!!

Jim Carrey and I were graduates of National Institute of Broadcasting!

Yes they gladly took my money too...

It helped me get my first gig at DC-103 in Orangeville as an operator and went on from there...

Thanks for the flashbacks!

ps... Doug we are still overdue to catch up to talk about Fitness Files and other fun shows you worked on!

As a long time reader, first time poster I have gone the internet radio route to maintain my passion for Canadian Music and Broadcasting.  It has been a fair investment of time, cash and passion to get this off the ground and I am beginning to reap benefits for my efforts.  I started my radio career as a producer and board op and worked my way up to General Manager and General Sales Manager and enjoyed every forward step.  This project was my natural progression of station ownership and keeping a pulse on Canadian Music.  I have apps on Google and Apple and websites for my 2 (soon to be 6) stations focusing on Canadian Talent. I admire the passion that is shared on SOWNY and look forward to contributing again soon.
