Numeris statement about 2017 Spring Diary Radio Ratings

Numeris issues a special statement to Canadian radio stations explaining why the important A25-54 demos are being negatively impacted by the new digital Online Radio Diaries (ORD) used in the 2017 Spring Diary Radio Ratings and 2016 Fall Diary Radio Ratings.

"The introduction of the ORD has resulted in a reduction in overall tuning and the inability to compare the 2016 Fall and Spring 2017 Diary surveys with prior diary surveys. In order to achieve an equivalency between the Fall 2015 and Fall 2016 Radio diary results, Numeris recommended that the industry recognize that for the 25-54 demo an overall decline of approximately 10% in tuning was attributable to the introduction of the ORD. Please note that the equivalency factor is based on a national average and that results will vary by market."

The statement ends with this feel good message:

"Numeris also wants to highlight that the introduction of the online tool has delivered a greater participation of younger respondents with full time jobs, university and post-graduate diplomas, and households with over $100,000 annual income. Overall the diary sample is more robust and representative."

Re: Numeris statement about 2017 Spring Diary Radio Ratings

As David Bray once wrote in a Broadcaster column..  "So were you lying to me then, or are you lying to me now?"

Madness takes its toll.  Please have exact change.
