New Mississauga Station Will Be On Air By End Of November

What may be one of Canada's longest delays in actually getting a station to air is about to come to an end, after the CRTC approved an application by CKNT, the new Mississauga talk station at 960 AM, to change its transmitter site. This despite an intervention from another newcomer, an ethnic outlet in Brampton due to be on 1350 AM, over concerns about possible interference.

The decision means that CKNT, which was licenced way back in the winter of 2011, will have to be on air on or before November 30th, just a little over two months away.

About time too. If there is another Mississauga rail derailment we can get details from AM 960 CKNT and ignore those amateurs Jerry Agar & Mike Stafford

assuming that any future derailment doesn't take out their Tx site...
