Re: FM Oldies station needed for GTA

Oldies at this day and age would be considered Boom 973.

Indeed. When "Oldies" radio first became a format in the 80s, the music was 15-25 years old. Boom is significantly older than that by a long-shot.

As for AM, CKNT is playing some pretty good oldies.
I wish they could be an Oldies station instead of a talk station.

They play a lot of great oldies. I just wish they could mix both stereo channels into one mono channel. Hey CKNT, are you listening?

Have not listened much but you must be listening at a different time b/c I have not heard many "great oldies" but in terms of one mono channel, if a stereo track is received on a mono AM signal that's like combining two stereo tracks into one mono channel, unless somehow only one of the stereo channels is working. In which case that would be an incomplete track. I can see that happening temporarily due to a technical problem with one of the channels upon transmission but the problem would/should be easily fixed.
