According to "Awful Announcing" Facebook has signed a 30-35M deal to carry 25 midweek afternoon games on its Facebook MLB Live page. These games will be exclusive to Facebook with no local or streaming coverage. First game is Phillies/Mets on April 4th. Interestingly, the Royals/Jays game on April 18th is part of the package. I believe this exclusivity deal applies only to games south of the border, as Rogers Sportsnet has the rights to all the Jay games here.

Are they actually going to show ads? Or simply go to a blue screen that reads "Ad in progress...programming will resume shortly"
Facebook doesn't do anything they can't sell ads for.
This makes a lot of sense - midweek afternoon games = watching at work.

Facebook already has a very successful after-hours adult programming line-up. All sorts of sexual deviations and absolutely nothing is taboo. Hell, even PETA is protesting them for their very-adult, non-censual use of livestock and tentacle porn. Use the Onion browser and embrace the (very) dark web.
