I wasn't sure just how they planned to handle the great coming repack debacle, where hundreds of TV stations in the U.S. (and some in Canada) will be giving up their present channel locations for new ones to free up cell phone space, but now the first answer is here. 

WNBC-TV in New York is airing a one minute "we're moving our transmitter" announcement aimed solely at those who watch their station over the air. And their website contains a list of how to rescan your TV - including instructions for different manufacturers - all to be done before the end of March.

We've been following the changes here locally for awhile, most especially WIVB Channel 4's eventual move to its WNLO Tower, which should make the Buffalo CBS affiliate a lot easier to get in the GTA. Still no date on when that's happening.
