The Most Mispronounced Words By Cdn. Newscasters In 2017

Ever hear one of your regular newscasters terribly boot a word, knowing it's not the way you're supposed to say it? Well, you can imagine what the people who close caption newscasts hear every day - and they can't turn the channel. Here's the list of the most mangled and messed up mots of the year from the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

Hard to believe "Etobicoke" is at the top of the one from Canada. (Scroll down from the U.S. list to see ours.)

Eglinton.  Drives me crazy when they add a second "g".

I once heard a Toronto newscaster, who was obviously new to the area, pronounce "Yonge St." as though Yonge rhymed with sponge. Ouch!

# 1 up here is WASAGA BEACH, s/b pronounced "wah-sah-gah", no hard "a", eh?
