I caught a self-serving commercial on FM 95.1 the "Peak" . . .

 . . . that touted the benefits of radio advertising (nothing new) but went a little further by acknowledging that a large portion of listening happens in a vehicle, by commuters and although not specifically stated, in this case by weekend vacationers. 

Their music sucks but it's a valid point.

I loved these self-serving ads from the 60's done up by Stan Freberg and with Sarah Vaughan on the music vocals...

I love the Whip Cream with a cherry on top spot the best...as Freberg gets the point that radio is theatre of the mind...

Well worth 5 minutes of your day today and brilliant creative...
