Tom Rivers on 680 CFTR - January 1991

Came across this today in a box of VHS tapes I bought at an auction...
Tom Rivers decided to play `Give Peace A Chance` all morning on his show due to the pending Gulf War.

Davester.

Re: Tom Rivers on 680 CFTR - January 1991

Isn't this the time when AM 640 parked their company vehicle right outside the CFTR building, broadcasting live, yelling "TOM RIVERS IS LEAVING EVERYBODY!! TOM RIVERS IS LEAVING!!!"
even though he wasn't going anywhere...

Brave of the man and I can see that the testimonials to Tom listed at the Rock Radio Scrapbook site ring true.

Also quite the contrast to what happened to most commercial radio during the second gulf war in 2003 when stations were told not to play tracks such as The Unknown Soldier by The Doors (among many others). A ban by any other name.
