My old pal Gerry Forbes...

We were out tooling around downtown Toronto one night nearly 40 years ago in his hearse...

You heard me....Gerry had a huge black....(what colour where you expecting)  hearse !!

The cops stopped him (us) and had a few questions for him...

It was more out of curiosity on their part I think than any thing else...

That was my first ride in a hearse.

I suspect it won't be my last...

Any one else here acquainted with that crazy 'sumbitch   Gerry Forbes ??

Re: My old pal Gerry Forbes...

Never met Gerry but I remember Reg "Sweet Daddy" Siki used to drive a purple hearse.

Re: My old pal Gerry Forbes...

I didn't know that...

Saw the sweet man in person a time or two at a couple of wrestling shows...

He was working for the bearman, the late Dave McKigney at the time.

I'll tell you that story sometime....

Neil Young put thousands of miles on his '53 Pontiac hearse Mort (short for Mortimer Hearseberg)

Re: My old pal Gerry Forbes...

Worked with Gerry...and his bro for awhile.  Never rode the hearse.  Don't EVER plan to.  Just cremate me...and make sure you fill the box with popcornable corn.  Better start stocking up now.

I remember Terry Steele wraslin' Sweet Daddy.  That was the only way the promoters...was it Frank Tunney...could assure that the Bear wouldn't be hurt by some yahoo trying to make a 'point',  Sweet Daddy had class.  [and candy-striped wraslin' briefs.]  Bulldog Brower might have harmed Jimmy Stromberg.
