One Of TV's Blandest Actors Dies At 85

Ken Berry was about as vanilla as you could get for a TV actor. Yet he earned fame if not quite a fortune on some of TV's most famous shows. He was on "F Troop," and "Mama's Family" but become best known for replacing Andy Griffith on the newly constituted "Mayberry R.F.D." His list of other guest appearances is pretty impressive.

In this obit from the Hollywood Reporter, he explains how it was a pre-fame Leonard "Mr. Spock" Nimoy who was responsible for launching his career.
