CHUM Vet Remembers The Interview That Almost Got Him Fired

It involved Grace Slick and Don Shafer recalls that he probably should have been turfed right then and there. Includes a mention of our old SOWNY board pal, John Donabie, as well as memories of CHOM-FM in Montreal. An interesting read from a guy who's done it all.

Re: CHUM Vet Remembers The Interview That Almost Got Him Fired

I have a few memories of Don Shafer at CHUM FM and two of them involve the Move. Don played the song Fields of People and The Last Thing on my Mind on different occasions and I appreciated that as the station was heading onto a more commercial direction and they reminded me of the old days.

I also remember a Grace Slick interview and the thing that I remember to this day is Grace complementing Don on the colour of his eyes. I think that was in 1975.
