Dan Turner R.I.P.
Sad to report that former Toronto newscaster Dan Turner has passed away.
Dan worked at CFGM - CHUM and CP24.
He grew up and schooled in London & was from a broadcast family.
His father Pat Turner was a newscaster& sister Kelly was also an on air talent.

I am very sad to hear this. I knew Dan and worked with him briefly, although I hadn't seen him in many years. He was a rock solid guy. I was aware he'd been sick for some time, but I didn't think he was so close to the end.
I remember him from one place you didn't mention - CKEY, where he worked for a few short years in the late 70s. I recall Taylor Parnaby, the news director there, kept saying to him, "Don't run off to the networks on us, Dan!" in a joking way. That's how talented he was.
Great voice, great person. My condolences to his family.

As a listener, I liked Dan's style and delivery, he seemed upbeat in his delivery of the news and was a true professional...RIP Dan...and comfort to those who knew him and that were close to him.
The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...

Worked with Dan at CHUM/CHUM-FM. Good guy, dependable and consistent. Sad to hear he's gone.
