Veteran TV Second Banana Passes

If you grew up in the 60s or 70s, you certainly knew who Bill Daily was. He played Maj. Roger Healey on "I Dream of Jeannie," and neighbour Howard Borden on the classic "Bob Newhart Show." (It was his "Hi Bob" that started that infamous drinking game.)

He was never the direct star of any big show, but always played one of those character parts that lent so much to a sitcom. His son announced that Daily died on Sept. 4th. Hard to believe he was 91. For some reason, I thought he was younger than that.

Bill Daily, Major Healey in ‘I Dream of Jeannie,’ Dies at 91

Mr. Daily was indeed a fine character actor and very funny as well.
