Another X Rated moment on CHCH

Apparently this happened on Thursday morning, and was isolated to Rogers Cable subscribers only... The main CHCH feed was not compromised...

Re: Another X Rated moment on CHCH

Both times it's happened now, it was the BDU and not Channel Zero's fault.  Ironic considering the main income of the group .

I was working with a group doing an upgrade at XpressVU who ended up putting hardcore porn on Treehouse (obviously by accident) for a short while.   It happens.

Well, there is a 3 year gap. It's not like it's happening weeks apart, or even days apart, but it shouldn't be happening at all.

It happens a lot more than we think, but if it's just another network or whatever, not many people notice, and it never makes the paper.  (Other than the Letterman finale.)

And it will happen over and over simply because of the numbers involved.  There are hundreds of channels with thousands of substitutions taking place.   You can have as many monitor walls as you want, but a finite number of eyes on those pips and you just won't catch every mistake that the automation created.   The broadcasters also share responsibility for bad information.  It's not like the BDU's are psychic about what simsub to execute.  If the broadcasters give a wrong out time, or there's some type of delay in programing, everything goes to hell, there's only so much that any head end can do.

The simple, but not easy solution is, as others have said here, just leave the channels alone.  But that creates even more problems.
