Not Fake News: "Murphy Brown" Coming Back To CBS

I was always a big fan of "Murphy Brown" during its heyday on CBS back in the late 80s. Now comes word that, like "Will & Grace" and "Roseanne," another eponymous sitcom is a definite go for next season - with star Candice Bergen and possibly other original cast members returning.

As much I decry the lack of creativity in Hollywood, given who's in the White House, this might be the perfect time to resurrect this show. Should be lots of material by the time its already ordered 13 episodes debut at the start of the 2019 season.

This is one of just a few shows that took place in a TV newsroom. The most famous, of course, also aired on CBS - The Mary Tyler Moore Show, currently on in the afternoons on CHCH.

Re: Not Fake News: "Murphy Brown" Coming Back To CBS

The original rarely gets rerun because it was very topical and Dan Quayle jokes don't play too well these days. (Although it was Quayle who criticized the character in a speech, which ended up on the show.)

For those with an antenna, it's currently airing on Antenna TV on WGRZ's channel 2.2 subcarrier.
